ACTIVITIES DAY WITH KIDS!

ACTIVITIES DAY WITH KIDS!

On Saturday, 20th of November, members of our club spent the day with the kids at the community center “De Kroko Kinderclub”. This center is located in one of the neighborhoods of the Hague. Every two weeks, children from different backgrounds meet and take part in different creative and sports activities.

Together with the kids, we drew, built, and painted foam airplanes and played several other games such as “Musical Chairs” or “Wolf, wolf, what time is it?”. Everybody had a lot of fun during this day and we are looking forward to meeting the kids soon!

SinterKlaas Project for Children

SinterKlaas Project for Children

As celebrations are upon us, let us join together for Sinterklaas!

This year we are honoured to support women and children in difficult situations, celebrating the holiday of Sinterklaas in places outside the security of their homes.

We want to contribute to our greatest extent to make this holiday special for mothers and their children, aged 4 to 12, so let us do it together!

We are collecting gifts for 12 mothers and 13 children. You can give a gift for both or only for children or for mothers.

If you would like to donate or contribute, or maybe you know a Sinterklaas, who would like to make an appearance, contact us or fill in the google form (link below).

Let’s make Sinterklaas a comforting and cheerful holiday for everyone!

World Mental Health Day – 2021

World Mental Health Day – 2021

World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10 every year to raise awareness and spread knowledge about mental health issues across the globe.

With the world still battling the pandemic, mental health has come into focus like never before as people of all age groups and occupations bear the brunt of the “new normal”.

The theme for this year is “Mental Health in an Unequal World”. While the pandemic has affected everyone, people with pre-existing health conditions, people living alone or parenting on their own, health and frontline workers, students are the most affected and need more support.

World Mental Health Day also gives a chance to talk about mental health in general and how we need to look after it. It is also important to talk about how we feel and get help if we are struggling.

If you are feeling any mental health issues, it is better to talk to someone you trust or get professional help.

As a club, we engaged in activities for people with mental disabilities. Check it out here: https://rotaractscheveningen.nl/2021/10/10/cooking-with-residents-of-middin-haagse-bluf/
