Yesterday, members of Rotaract Scheveningen went to play bingo with the elderly with dementia living in a nursing home. We had a very nice time with the elderly and bingo can be anything but boring.
Our year 2021 ended with a big project that we did for Stichting Perspectief. As an outreach project, we gathered Sinterklaas gifts for women and children who are not home due to domestic violence. We wanted to do something special as Sinterklaas could bring joy to everyone around. After we kicked off our project, we gathered donations to buy presents. Via one of our members, we also contacted the local ING office, which also decided to participate and donate a lot of gifts.
On Thursday, 2nd December we gathered together to wrap all the gifts, so the next day we could hand them out at locations of Stichting Perspektief. We had quite a lot of fun wrapping gifts.
On Friday, 3rd December 2021, we members of the club Rotaract Scheveningen, left our warm houses on a very cold evening and joined in an unexpected journey. The Solidarity. We received so much love and gratitude from children and their mommies living in one of the numerous shelters that house survivors of domestic violence.
The journey with each family, Sinterklaas, duizendenkleuren Piet and two wonderful assistants was unique! Who received the gifts were us! Thank you, children, and mothers, for believing in generosity, accepting our gifts and returning it with tenderness and with lots of smiles and happiness! The Sinterklaas is in each one of us! Tot volgend jaar!

In November start, our club could continue our club weekend tradition after a bit longer break. Once a year we make a trip somewhere and this time we took our cars to Bruges and Ghent in Belgium!
We had a sightseeing tour with our guide Erik in Bruges, castle visit in Ghent, beer tasting here and there and also got to see the most beautiful corners of both cities.
All in all a very successful trip!
